About Us

The Centro de Referencia para Lactobacilos (CERELA) is a leading research institute of the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET) in Argentina, dedicated to the study of lactic acid bacteria and their applications in health, nutrition, and biotechnology.
For five decades, CERELA has contributed to the development of functional foods, probiotics, and microbial biotechnology, promoting the transfer of scientific knowledge to industry and society. Through its interdisciplinary research and international collaborations, the institute has become a global reference in the field of lactic acid bacteria.
